June 2, 2021 The Kamloops RCMP Detachment responded to approximately 376 calls for service from midnight Friday May 28, to 9 a.m. on Monday May 31, 2021. Below are some highlights from those calls. Donation box stolen during break and enter 2021-17724 The Kamloops RCMP Detachment is investigating after donation boxes were stolen from a business in Valleyview on Sunday. On May 30, 2021, around 3:45 a.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers responded to a report of a break and enter at a restaurant on the 1800-block of the East Trans Canada Highway. The break in was discovered by an employee who attended the location for work and discovered a broken window. May 12 2021 The Kamloops RCMP Detachment responded to approximately 368 calls for service from midnight Friday May 7, to 9 a.m. on Monday May 10, 2021. Below are some highlights from those calls.   Man arrested in store break and enter 2021-14867 An early morning break and enter to a business led to the arrest of one person early Saturday morning. On May 8, around 4:21 a.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers attended a business on the 2100-block of the East Trans Canada Highway for a report of a broken door and a figure inside. Shortly after attending, police located a suspect outside and arrested him. Police seized evidence and released the man with a court date, pending the investigation’s conclusion. Motorists given notice on locking up and locking out auto crime

If it appeared on your parked vehicle last week, there’s a good chance it was actually an Auto Crime Prevention Notice. The Kamloops RCMP and community partners teamed up last week to create awareness and promote auto theft prevention during Lock-Out Auto Crime events throughout the city. On Wednesday and Thursday last week, April 28 and 29, 2021, police officers, RCMP and Kamloops City volunteers, Community Service Officers, and ICBC employees hit parking lots at the Thompson Hotel, North Shore Library, Holiday Inn, Northills Mall, and Fortune Shopping Centre to check on unoccupied vehicles and see how well they did at preventing auto theft. Kamloops RCMP Detachment Media ReleaseMay 6, 2021File: Kamloops 2021-9076 A federal police unit is looking into claims of potential criminality brought forth by the Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) in late March. On March 23, 2021, the Kamloops RCMP Detachment was contacted by members representing the interest of the TNRD, who presented information they believed may be associated to criminality. “Following an assessment of the information presented, the Kamloops RCMP was able to establish a better understanding of the scope of that investigation and conduct internal consultations surrounding the most appropriate and timely police response in terms of resourcing and expertise,” said Staff Sergeant Simon Pillay of the Kamloops RCMP Serious Crimes Unit. April 28, 2021 The Kamloops RCMP Detachment responded to approximately 415 calls for service from midnight Friday April 23, to 9 a.m. on Monday April 26, 2021. Below are some highlights from those calls.   Parties reported at Pioneer Park 2021-12925/12944 Police were called to Pioneer Park multiple times Friday evening for party reports. On April 23, 2021 around 5:12 p.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers were called to the Pioneer Park boat launch for a report of approximately 75 people who were gathered without social distance or masks. Police attended and located small groups of youths. No alcohol was observed.
