Vehicle impound: prohibited driver 2024-7826 Proactive patrols on Ricardo Road led to a Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP Detachment officer locating a prohibited driver known to police. On March 17, 2024, around 5 p.m., a frontline officer was on patrol when he recognized a truck associated to a Kamloops man he knew to have a driving prohibition. As part of the investigation, the officer confirmed the driver’s identity, issued him a court date to answer to the new charge, and under the Motor Vehicle Act, impounded the vehicle, which was registered to someone else.…

On Feb. 5, 2024, around 1:35 a.m., a Kamloops RCMP frontline officer was proactively patrolling when he conducted a traffic stop on a red minivan with an obscured license plate. As the officer approached, he observed a man in the driver’s seat switch spots with a woman passenger. Both were arrested for obstruction.
