The Kamloops RCMP Detachment responded to approximately 439 calls for service from Friday Sept. 6, to 9 a.m. on Monday Sept. 9, 2024. Below are some highlights from those reports.
Assault with a weapon

A woman was arrested and later released with conditions, following a report of a person who stated they had been stabbed in the neck.
On Sept. 6, 2024, around 6:45 p.m., Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP Detachment and Kamloops City frontline officers responded to the area of Salish Road in response to the report, and located a woman with what appeared to be minor injuries. She was transported to hospital for care and assessment.
Police located a suspect shortly after near the Halston Bridge and arrested her. She was lodged in cells to sober up safely, assessed by the Integrated Crisis Response Team, then released with conditions and a court date.

Robbery reported near underpass

Police arrested a robbery suspect in the early hours of Friday morning, in response to an incident that allegedly occurred under the Trans Canada Highway.
On Sept. 6, 2024, around 2:15 a.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers attended the highway underpass at Columbia Street West, where a person stated they had been robbed by two men; one of which may have had a firearm. Police arrested a suspect shortly after. Firearm ammunition was seized as part of the investigation.
The suspect was lodged in cells and released without process when sober, as part of the investigation.

Attempted break and enter

Multiple police officers responded to the North Shore for a report of a break and enter in progress Sunday.
On Sept. 8, 2024 around 1:35 a.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers attended a residence on the 400-block of Mulberry Avenue, after its homeowners were woken by an alarm, then observed a man run out of their shed and hop the fence. The suspect was described as having a slim build, 5’6”, and a light-coloured hoody. Nothing was reported stolen.

Weapons investigation leads to drug seizure

Suspected fentanyl, cocaine, and meth were among just under 200 grams of drugs seized by police during a weapon’s possession investigation.
On Sept. 8, 2024, around midnight, police were patrolling the 600-block of Seymour Street when they observed a man with a weapon. He was arrested. As part of the investigation, officers seized approximately 152 grams of suspected fentanyl, 29 grams of cocaine, 12 grams of meth, other illegal drugs, and paraphernalia conducive of drug trafficking.
The suspect was lodged in cells, then released without process as part of the ongoing investigation.
Police presence in Barnhartvale

A report involving what appeared to be a firearm led to a police presence in the area of Todd Road and McLeod Drive this weekend.
On Sunday Sept. 8, 2024, around 8:30 p.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers responded to the area, where a person allegedly drove around a pedestrian, who afterwards appeared to point something at the vehicle that looked like a long gun. Police patrolled the surrounding roadways, but a suspect was not located. No other reports were received.
