The Kamloops RCMP Detachment responded to approximately 318 calls for service from Friday Mar. 21, 2025, to 9 a.m. on Monday Mar. 24. Below are some highlights from those reports.
Commercial break and enter

Kamloops police are looking for suspects after a thief appeared to have broken into a business through its roof.
Just before midnight on Sunday Mar. 23, 2025, Kamloops RCMP frontline officers responded to an alarm at a commercial location on the 100-block of 4th Avenue. On scene, police discovered cash had been stolen and a roof hatch was insecure. Evidence was seized as part of the investigation.

Impaired driving

A Kamloops woman who was observed speeding through the North Shore before crashing into a curb, was arrested for being impaired.
On Sunday Mar. 23, 2025, around 7:50 a.m., a Kamloops RCMP frontline officer was patrolling Fortune Drive near Chestnut Avenue when he saw a white SUV speeding excessively. The officer attempted a traffic stop, at which point the driver entered into oncoming traffic, smashed into a curb when re-entering her lane, then came to a rest near Holly Avenue.
The woman received a 90-day driving prohibition and 30-day vehicle impound for operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content exceeding .08, along with violation tickets for excessive speeding, driving contrary to license restriction, and failing to keep right of a single broken/solid line.
During the investigation, police also arrested the driver and two passengers for being intoxicated in public and lodged them in cells to sober up safely and prevent continuation of the offence.

Stolen items recovered

Police officers from Kamloops City and Rural detachments responded to a commercial theft report in Heffley Creek on Saturday and recovered stolen tools.
On Mar. 22, 2025, around 11:15 a.m., police attended a business on Old Hwy 5 and Tod Mountain Road, where employees had allegedly located people believed to be stealing. As part of the investigation, officers located one of the two items reported as stolen in the back of the suspects’ U-Haul, and another abandoned nearby.
The property was returned and the suspects were released without process.

Man arrested for CSO breach

Stopping to check the well-being of an unconscious man led to police discovering the person was violating a Conditional Sentence Order (CSO).
On Friday Mar. 21, 2025, just before 7 p.m., a Kamloops RCMP frontline officer was patrolling the area of Battle and 13th streets when he observed a man who was on the ground on his back, had one shoe off, and his arms out to the side. While making sure the man was okay, and as part of his investigation, the officer discovered the man was not injured, but was breaching his CSO conditions.
He was arrested and held for a bail hearing.
