August 5, 2022 File: Long weekend report July 29 - Aug 2 The Kamloops RCMP Detachment responded to approximately 524 calls for service from midnight Friday July 29, to 9 a.m. on Tuesday Aug. 2, 2022. Below are some highlights from those reports. Drugs and weapons seized 2022-26593 A check-well being request led to the seizure of drugs and weapons, along with a vehicle impound this weekend. On Sunday July 31, 2022 around 12:25 p.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers responded to the 100-block of Lorne Street for a report of a man inside a running vehicle, slumped over in the driver’s seat. During National Victims and Survivors of Crime Week, May 15-21, 2022, the Kamloops RCMP Detachment is reaching out to remind people they don’t have to find the power to move forward alone. Police looking to identify fraud suspect

Kamloops City 2021-09-14 09:07 PDT File # 2021-26355 The Kamloops RCMP Detachment is turning to the public for help with an investigation that began in late July. Police are asking residents to please have a look at the surveillance footage from a fraud investigation which began on July 31, 2021. The images were received after a bank contacted RCMP to report a suspicious person allegedly trying to impersonate a woman whose identification had been stolen. RCMP Memorial stolen from park

July 29, 2021 File: 2021-25646 Police are asking the public to be on the lookout for a plaque stolen from Peterson Creek Park. On Monday July 26, 2021, around 9:32 a.m., the Kamloops RCMP Detachment received a report that a memorial plaque had been stolen from Peterson Creek Park. The brass plaque was in memory of three Kamloops RCMP constables who were killed near the location on June 18, 1962: Elwood Joseph Keck, Gordon Eric Pedersen, and Donald George Weisgerber. The officers were shot and killed while responding to a call involving a man with a gun. “For someone to deface and steal a memorial honouring constables who died while trying to protect the residents of this community is really sad, it’s shameful to say the least,” said Kamloops RCMP…
