Downtown fires: man arrested 2024-23096 A brief foot pursuit ended with a suspect being taken into custody Friday afternoon, following a report of a man starting fires. On Friday July 19, 2024, around 5:35 p.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers were called to the area of 4th Avenue and Nicola Street, where a man was reported to have lit the grass on fire and walked away. Officers located a victim, who was transported to hospital by ambulance, as well as a number of people in the area who were known to police.
