The Kamloops RCMP Detachment responded to approximately 306 calls for service from Friday Jan. 10, 2025, to 9 a.m. on Monday Jan. 13. Below are some highlights from those reports.
Impaired driver

A woman lost her licence for 90 days following a collision with a garden bed on Friday morning.
On Jan. 10, 2025, around 7:35 a.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers were called to the 2700-block of Tranquille Road, where a white sedan had crashed into a concrete garden bed. Police attended and spoke with the driver, who was uninjured. As part of the investigation, roadside breath tests were administered and registered readings of ‘Fail’, indicating a blood alcohol content exceeding .08.
The woman received a 90-day driving prohibition and 30-day vehicle impound under the Motor Vehicle Act, as well as a violation ticket.
Arrest in mischief investigation

Police took a woman into custody in response to a report involving damaged property.
On Friday Jan. 10, 2025, around 11:10 a.m., Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP Detachment frontline officers attended the 700-block of Kamloopa Road, where a person known to the property owner had allegedly damaged a vehicle and a window at a residence. A suspect was arrested nearby and taken into custody.
She was later released with conditions and a court date, with charge recommendations anticipated.
Alcohol involved in highway collision

A driver was discovered to be under the influence of alcohol Friday night, after he crashed his vehicle in rural Kamloops.
On Jan. 10, 2025, around 9:45 p.m., Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP Detachment frontline officers attended the Trans Canada Highway at Big Sky Road in response to the report. As part of the investigation, roadside breath tests were administered to the sole occupant and driver of the vehicle.
A three-day driving prohibition and vehicle impound were issued under the Motor Vehicle Act.
