Below are some highlights from those reports. Robbery report 2023-5711 A woman was allegedly robbed of cash and a bluetooth speaker downtown on Friday night. Around 9:15 p.m., on Feb. 17, 2023, Kamloops RCMP frontline officers were called to an assault in the alleyway behind the 500-block of Victoria Street. The victim reported being struck with an blunt object, then having her pink wallet with flowers on it stolen, along with the speaker. February 9, 2023 File: 2023-1284 Do you know this woman? The Kamloops RCMP Detachment is looking for the public’s assistance identifying a person of interest in a theft investigation. On Jan. 11, 2023, around 5:20 p.m., the Kamloops RCMP Detachment received a theft report of a business cellphone at a commercial location on the 1100-block of Columbia Street West. Kamloops RCMP Detachment Media Release FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE February 1, 2023 File: 2023-3442 Police urge caution when arranging encounters online A weekend robbery in a motel room has police reminding the public of the risks associated to arranging services with people online.  On Jan. 29, 2023, around 8:30 a.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers were called to a motel room on the 500-block of Columbia Street West, where a man had allegedly arranged an encounter with someone online, but instead was met by two men who assaulted him with a weapon and robbed him of his wallet and phone. Kamloops RCMP Detachment Media Release FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE January 19, 2023 File: 2023-1956 Logan Lake man facing firearm, theft charges in Kamloops A man is in custody following an investigation that occurred after a police officer was waved down by a pedestrian in Kamloops Tuesday morning. On Jan. 17, 2023, around 10:20 a.m., a Kamloops RCMP frontline officer was driving on Cammeray Road when he stopped for the pedestrian, who drew his attention to a man slumped over the steering wheel of a truck, idling at the end of Spurrway and Huckleberry roads.  Police checks revealed the truck was reported as stolen. “With the assistance of backup, the officer took a man into custody without incident,” said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. “A search related to the investigation also…

October, 2022 File: 2022-35951 Sahali robbery: man in custody A man is facing charges related to robbery, weapon possession, and threats, following his arrest in Sahali late Friday afternoon. On Oct. 7, 2022, around 5:05 p.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers attended the 700-block of Summit Drive after a man allegedly stole from a business in the area, then produced what appeared to be a weapon when chased by an employee. “With the assistance of the Police Dog Service Unit, officers located a suspect nearby and took him into custody without issue,” said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. “He was held for a weekend bail hearing and remanded until his next court appearance, scheduled for sometime today.” Justin Wade Worthington, 42, of Kamloops, is charged with one count each of:…

Police looking to identify fraud suspect

Kamloops City 2021-09-14 09:07 PDT File # 2021-26355 The Kamloops RCMP Detachment is turning to the public for help with an investigation that began in late July. Police are asking residents to please have a look at the surveillance footage from a fraud investigation which began on July 31, 2021. The images were received after a bank contacted RCMP to report a suspicious person allegedly trying to impersonate a woman whose identification had been stolen. RCMP Memorial stolen from park

July 29, 2021 File: 2021-25646 Police are asking the public to be on the lookout for a plaque stolen from Peterson Creek Park. On Monday July 26, 2021, around 9:32 a.m., the Kamloops RCMP Detachment received a report that a memorial plaque had been stolen from Peterson Creek Park. The brass plaque was in memory of three Kamloops RCMP constables who were killed near the location on June 18, 1962: Elwood Joseph Keck, Gordon Eric Pedersen, and Donald George Weisgerber.
