Below are some highlights from those reports. Fighting downtown 2023-18512 A man was taken to cells Friday night, following a report of a person starting fights downtown. On May 26, 2023, around 2:40 p.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers were called to the 400-block of St. Paul Street in response to the report, during which they located a man nearby arguing with people. The same man had been responsible for generating several other calls for service in the area as well. He was arrested and lodged in cells to prevent continuation of the offence, then released without process once sobered.…

Break-in report: man charged 2023-17812 A Kamloops man is facing charges related to mischief, breach probation, and possession of break-in instruments on the North Shore this weekend. On Sunday May 21, 2023, around 8:35 a.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers attended a commercial location on the 100-block of Oak Road, where a security camera captured video of a person who appeared to be attempting to break-in. Officers located a suspect nearby, who was also wanted on a warrant for failure to comply with an undertaking. He was arrested as part of the investigation.…

Below are some highlights from those reports. Rural Kamloops – fatal collision 2023-15714 The Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP Detachment is investigating a fatal motorcycle collision on Shuswap Road. On Saturday May 6, 2023, around 5:25 p.m., police were called to the area of Shuswap and Miner roads in response to the collision. Officers arrived to find civilians performing first aid on one of the motorcyclists injured in the crash, but she sadly succumbed to her injuries. Below are some highlights from those reports. Apprehension in parkade 2023-14643 A person was safely taken to hospital Saturday, following a police presence on Lansdowne Street. On April 29, 2023, around 2:50 a.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers attended the 300-block of Lansdowne Street for a report of a person experiencing a mental health crisis in a parkade. Responding officers spoke with the person for nearly one hour, during which time they were able to de-escalate the situation. March 28, 2023 File: 2023-8641 Kamloops woman’s death confirmed as homicide. An autopsy on a woman discovered deceased last week has confirmed that missing person Jo-Anne Donovan was the victim of homicide. The body of Jo-Anne Donovan, 57, was discovered near her residence on March 22, 2023, approximately one week after she was reported missing to police. Jo-Anne was last believed to be seen on March 13. An autopsy was scheduled for March 28 to confirm her identity and to determine the cause of her death. “Sadly, the autopsy results verified what investigators initially suspected, that Jo-Anne Donovan was the victim of homicide,” said Corporal Dave Marshall of the Kamloops RCMP Serious Crime Unit. “As our investigation continues, so too does our appeal for more information from the public to…
