A woman was investigated for offences including impaired driving after a police vehicle was struck this weekend.
On February 19, around 6:55 p.m., a Kamloops RCMP vehicle was making an emergency U-turn with its lights activated when it was struck by an eastbound vehicle on the East Trans Canada Highway near Grand Boulevard. The officer inside the cruiser received minor injuries. The other vehicle drove away, leaving its driver’s side door embedded in the police vehicle’s front right bumper.
As part of their investigation, police located and arrested a woman. She received a 24-hour driving prohibition related to impaired driving and was charged with violation tickets for failure to remain at the scene of an accident and failure to yield/stop for an emergency vehicle. The woman also received minor injuries related to the crash.
