Suspect arrested in relation to the fire at Thompson Hotel

Kamloops RCMP File 2020-39979 December 4th, 2020 One suspect is in custody after the fire at the Thompson Hotel early Thursday morning.  On the 3rd of December at approximately 01:03 AM, the Kamloops RCMP attended to the Thompson Hotel at 650 Victoria Street to assist Kamloops Fire Rescue with a suspicious fire. Our front line officers conducted an investigation and were able to obtain video surveillance which showed that a suspect had intentionally started the fire before fleeing the area. A description was provided to all front line officers and at 03:20 AM, a suspect matching the description was located possessing evidence that he was responsible for starting it. Sudden snowfall causes several accidents

Kamloops RCMP - Public Service Announcement October 23rd, 2020 Due to a sudden early season snowfall this morning the Kamloops RCMP are responding to several motor vehicle accidents all over the city. We are requesting that drivers please use caution, slow down, and give yourself extra time to arrive at your destination. In particular, intersections appear to have become slick with ice where people are attempting to slow down and stop. Give yourself plenty of stopping distance. Kamloops RCMP File # 2020-34502 2020-10-22 On October 13, 2020 Kamloops Mounties received a call from a concerned family member indicating that they had not heard from their family member in several months but that he was living in the Kamloops area. The family had important news to share with the man but they had been unable to locate him for some time. They were becoming very concerned for his safety. The Kamloops RCMP received reports of three thefts within a short period of time and they are believed to be linked. Domestic Violence Situation

Kamloops RCMP, File #2020-35428          On October 21st, at approximately 8:40 am the Kamloops RCMP we called to a local hotel on the 600 block of Columbia Street West to a report of domestic violence situation in one of the rooms. Initial reports had indicated that a female was subject to a domestic violence situation and that there was the possibility of a weapon present. As a result, a heavy police presence was observed in the area briefly while we addressed the situation. Shots fired on Columbia Street

Kamloops RCMP File # 2020-34835 On October 16th, 2020 at approximately 07:30 am, the Kamloops RCMP received several reports of gun shots being fired near the 500 block of Columbia Street West. Upon arrival, police were unable to locate any suspects and the area was contained for investigation and safety. Initial reports indicate a group of individuals were seen in a parking lot when gunfire erupted. One individual in the area suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound and is being treated at RIH.    Currently, Columbia Street West is closed while police ensure that the scene is safe and there is not any danger to the public. Kamloops RCMP, File # 2020-33097                                   October 2, 2020 On October 1st, 2020 at approximately 5:15 pm the Kamloops RCMP received a report of gunshots in the area of Willow Street.  Police attended and observed damage to a residence that appeared to be consistent with a firearm.  The residence was occupied at the time and it was confirmed no one was injured.  A suspect was later identified and police converged on a residence in Dallas this morning.  With the assistance of the Southeast District Emergency Response Team a male was safely taken into custody.  Based on the police investigation thus far it is believed that the residence was targeted. Armed Robbery at Pizza place

File Number: 2020-31878On September 21, 2020 at approximately 10:55 pm, the Kamloops RCMP were called to a local pizza business at 875 Columbia Street who reported being robbed at gun point. A lone suspect entered the business, approached one of the employee who was working at the till and pointed what looked like a firearm towards him, asking for the money from the register. The employee complied, and the suspect grabbed an undisclosed amount of money before leaving the scene. He was last observed heading North on Columbia on a small bike.
